We have always been blessed to have such nice Christmas' and this year was no exception.
On Christmas Eve morning we enjoyed breakfast out at IHOP and that night
Lyndie and Nate came over for dinner and we played a couple of game of Ticket to Ride
and then we watched A Christmas Carol.
Christmas morning we spent at Dennis' moms where we had breakfast and then opened
our gifts at home. Later on Lyndie & Nate came over and opened their gifts and then
we all went to my parents for dinner.
It was wonderful day spent with family.

December Sunrise

This morning as I was saying goodbye to Dennis as he headed to work I noticed how beautiful the sunrise was. I grabbed my camera and stood on my front porch in my nightgown :) and took pictures. This is my favorite one. We live in such a beautiful state!

Preference at LaKay Restaurant

Jandie asked Nick to the Preference Dance and last night was the big night.
He's quite the comic and makes her laugh.

She got a great deal on this beautiful dress at Allyse's Bridal and Stacy Hughes
did her up-do.
We ended up having the dinner at our house which was a challenge when we don't have a formal dining room. We grabbed all the ficus trees and taller plants around the house and
made the dining room look nice.

They had a green salad, Smasher potatoes, Crock pot roast, rolls, fresh lime drink and
ice cream sundaes for dessert.

It all went good and I think they had a good time.

They left about 8:30 to head down to the Provo Library for the dance.

Don't Get in Kirsa's Way!

The photographers pictures are finally coming in and so I have to do a few posts with the pictures.
As I was looking through these I noticed that Kirsa (Lyndie's friend) is actually airborn when she catches the bouquet.
I couldn't resist the title of the post Kirsa....

The Honeymoon is Over

One of the many things you say to newlyweds when they get back from their honeymoon is "the honeymoon is over" referring them back to reality and normal life.
Lyndie and Nate went to Zion National Park and stayed in a cute little cabin for a few days for their honeymoon and had a great time.

One of the hard things as the mother of the bride who is always snapping pictures is that you can't go with them to capture it all on film. Lyndie took her camera and got some pictures for me. What a good daughter :)
They are back to work and still trying to get settled all the way in their apartment. They got lots of wonderful gifts to start them off well.
We are all very grateful for good friends and family who supported them as they start their new life together as husband and wife.

Presenting Mr. & Mrs. Peacock

What a beautiful day for a wedding.
Lyndie and Nate became husband & wife this morning in the Jordan River Temple.
It was a happy day full of joy and a sad day as we say goodbye to Lyndie from our home.

25 years ago Dennis and I were married in this same temple and had pictures taken in this very spot.

We love you Lyndie and Nate and wish you lots of joy & happiness together.

She's a gorgeous bride don't you think? :)

A Special Night

Lyndie chose to get her endowments out at the Draper Temple. We weren't able to attend the open house so it was neat to be able to see the inside of this beautiful temple.
I'm grateful to have this opportunity to be with my family in the temple in preparation for the big wedding this coming week.
Can I say that it's hard to believe we're on the doorstep to this wedding already?

Bridals

Lyndie had her bridals taken on Labor Day and we finally got them back. Here is my favorite picture of Lyndie and Nate.

A crazy two weeks!

Since Lyndie & Nate got engaged two weeks ago it's been non-stop wedding at our house.
Invitations, the cake, the flowers, the photographer (engagements, bridals & the wedding),
the wedding dress, the veil, the maid of honor dress for Jandie, the decorator, the addresses,
the registries, I could go on....
They had their engagement pictures taken last week and here is one Lyndie's friend Kim Myler took after the engagement session that I thought was beautiful.
Less than 6 weeks till the wedding and it's coming fast!

It's finally official!

Lyndie and Nate got engaged Saturday night. They are getting married in the Jordan River Temple on Friday, October 15th. And yes, that's in less than 8 weeks so there is a lot to do.

Our baby is 17!

I'd like to know where the time has gone!!! I can't believe that Jandie is 17 years old now and will be a senior in high school.
She had a pretty uneventful 17th birthday, I had to work all day and she chose to have homemade Pork Barbacoa enchiladas for dinner and a blueberry cheesecake for dessert.
She asked and got I Love Lucy Season 4, some SkullCandy earbuds and a red pair of Converse for her birthday and a few other things.

August Scrapbook Retreat

I feel so lucky to have been able to attend two Scrapbook retreats this summer thanks to Sheila.
We had so much fun and it was awesome to have some uninterupted time to scrapbook and relax with my favorite friends.

Thanks Lorna for letting me steal your pictures for my blog!
We did some star gazing at night too - it was cool to see the shooting stars during this latest meteor shower. It's an awesome place to go!

More pictures from our vacation

The Upper Yellowstone Falls
The brink of the lower falls
Good ole "Old Faithful"

"Extraction"

Well, the dreaded day for Jandie finally arrived. She got her 4 wisdom teeth removed this morning. It amazes me how fast they can get these out, it only took 30 minutes to remove them and then we had to wait another 30 minutes for her to wake up so I could take her home.
She was the most alert of my three kids after the surgery. She sat there talking to me with her mouth full of gauze and never closed her eyes once.
She's done really well today and has kept me busy getting her ice packs, frozen yogurt and mashed potatoes and gravy.
I'm glad the worry is over for her.

Wildlife from Wyoming

One of things I found funny when we got to Jackson Hole was an electric sign that warned there was a moose spotted in the area. We saw it all 5 days we were there but never saw it.
There were stores, restaurants etc. using the name Moose but I was yet to see any.
On the way into Yellowstone we saw one far away but you could only see the back end of it.
Finally as we were coming out of Grand Teton National Park near the visitor center we saw this mother and her baby crossing the road. I had Dennis pull into the parking lot so I could get this picture. I was so happy I got to see this and get a picture too.

In Yellowstone later in the day we stopped at the Upper Falls and there was this elk eating away and tons of people taking pictures. I was amazed at how close people were getting after the buffalo incident on the news the week before. Fortunately the zoom lens got this great picture while staying a safe distance.
I got this picture from the van while driving to the Lower falls area of Yellowstone. We saw buffalo multiple times that afternoon. I never realized how unattractive they were up close....

I didn't get to see a bear, but 3 out of 4 animals on my "TO SEE" list isn't too bad.

A Family Vacation

Our family just returned from a wonderful (much needed) vacation to Jackson Hole.
We stayed at a condo there and took in the sites there in Jackson Hole, drove into Yellowstone for the whole day on Wednesday and Grand Teton Nat'l Park on Thursday.
What beautiful country!

4th of July Traditions

It has been a Norman family tradition to go to the canyon or park for a 4th of July breakfast.
We all bring out stoves and food and cook up bacon, eggs and pancakes.
This year since the 4th fell on a Sunday we did our activities on Saturday.
It was actually cool and windy which made it a real challenge to fix and eat breakfast with everything blowing around.

Cole cooked pancakes for awhile and finally got a chance to eat some while Jandie reads her book for something to do.
Aunt Elaine came prepared a was wearing a scarf.

We had the Edwards family BBQ at our house again this year and enjoyed having Karen's family here from California. After we ate the kids all played a game of Croquet.

Then we ate homemade ice cream and had our firework show.

I tried my luck at taking pictures in the dark, which didn't turn out so well, but I did get a few pictures of Lyndie and Nate doing sparklers.

We left on Tuesday and scrapped our hearts out till Friday morning! We have lots of laughs, yummy food and great cabin to stay in thanks to Sheila.
I got 28 pages done and had a great time. Can't wait to go again!!

Happy Birthday Cole

We celebrated Cole's 24th Birthday today.
The kitchen was messed up because Dennis was tiling our backsplash so I picked up a cake at Fresh Market on our way home from our Brick Oven dinner.
Cole is such a pleasure to have in our home. He's responsible and hard working and always pitches in to help. He's a Geology major at UVU and still works at America First Credit Union as a teller.
We love you Cole!

Lyndie at 20

It's funny the things we find in life that make us who we are and give us individuality.
Lyndie loves Converse shoes and is slowly adding different colors to her collection.
The other day we took her to JC Penney to get some updated pictures and she wanted to make sure she had some photos with her favorite red Converse shoes.
I thought this one was a fun picture!

I'm so proud of Lyndie and the beautiful young women she is inside and out. She is a hard worker and know her dresses like the back of her hand. She will see someone's wedding or dance pictures and rattles off the number of the dress if it was bought at Alysse's Bridal.
She is always on time or even early and is very responsible. She is caring or others and has a
strong testimony of the gospel. We are lucky to have her as part of our family.

Lyndie & Chelsea

Lyndie has had many of her friends get married since she's graduated from high school. This past weekend she went to her friend Chelsea's bachelorette party and wedding reception. She remembers spending the night at Chelsea's house and having Mickey Mouse pancakes for breakfast.
They sure grow up fast!

Jandie's favorite Prom picture

More on Prom

I'm loving Facebook when you can go steal some pics you weren't able to get on your own. After Jandie and Brayden left here they went to Britton's house so his dad could take some pictures, he placed them on FB and now I get them too!

Prom day has arrived!

Jandie and Brayden headed out for their day date about 11:00 am. They went with another couple and enjoyed the day at Trafalga playing miniature golf. Then they ate an early dinner at the Olive Garden.
When she got home her and Lyndie headed to Dyson Studios where Jandie got her hair done.
Lyndie helped Jandie do her make-up and laced up her dress.
Brayden arrived at 7:00 pm and they exchanged their corsage and bouteniere. I was there taking as many pictures as my camera would allow.
Hope they have a magical evening!

The Easter Bunny is all tuckered out after all his delivering

Jandie had Thumper on her lap the other day and turned her on her back and she just slowly relaxed all sprawled out, she looked so funny.
Happy Easter everyone!
