February & March

Den's Birthday was fun, he got off work early and we went to Brick Oven for lunch and then to a movie. Then all the kids came over and we had presents and cake.

We had Roger and Sandy drop by in the same night and visit with us.

Dennis, Cole, Lyndie & Colin worked on the basement apartment from December till it was done in March.
Colin was good to come over lots of nights and work with Den.

I had to reschedule the carpet installation twice but we finally got carpet!
Jandie and Colin moved in the apartment the weekend of March 8th.

Jandie is finally looking like a baby is growing in there.

The kids came over after dinner and we had cake.  I had lots of birthday wishes, a 5 hour phone call with my sister and a relaxing low key Saturday, just like I wanted.

Brandon got home from his mission in Illinois and attended his Homecoming and luncheon after. It was good to see him again.

Hot Dogs and Pregnancy

Dennis decided to get a van to haul stuff in. The Hotdog van got lots of laughs, fortunately he was able to get the decals off so now its just a white van.  It's come in so handy with the apartment we made downstairs.

Jandie has had a rough time being pregnant with lots of throwing up and a couple of trips to the ER.

She has some good days and some not so good days.  Jandie found out from her ultrasound that she is having a girl.  We are so excited for baby Calli.

December

I made Gingerbread and Sugar cookie dough and lots of frosting and we all bake and decorated Christmas cookies.

Nate turned out to be quite the decorator :)
Lyndie took it very seriously and turned out a whole plate of masterpieces.

Christmas morning - the kids all went together and got me a new sewing machine.

It was nice to be all together on Christmas morning.

Christmas with the Tabernacle Choir

Dean & Vangie invited us to attend the Tabernacle Choirs Christmas program at the Conference Center. We ate dinner at Kneaders and then walked around City Creek and Temple Square before heading over to the Conference Center.

It was a wonderful program and evening and a great way to start out the Christmas season.

Mini Thanksgiving

Den's mom decided she wasn't up to putting on Thanksgiving this year and they were going out to eat. We were going to go with them until we found out that they were going to eat around 11:30 am.  This was too early for us so we eventually I decided to make dinner for those of us that didn't have another place to go.
Lyndie & Nate went to both sides of the family. Jandie & Colin went to a relatives house in Fairview. Cole and his friend JP came and we had a yummy turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy. We bought the rolls this year which was hard for me to do but I was trying to keep it simple with so few of us.

Of course you have to have homemade pie to go with Thanksgiving. I made a cherry, lemon and apple all from scratch. It was a simple Thanksgiving but very nice.

Time Out for Women

A group of my friends all got together and went up to Salt Lake to attend Time Out for Women. We attended Friday night and spent the night up there and attended all day Saturday. It was fun to be together and be spiritually uplifted.

Cameron & Kim's Wedding

Shortly after Jandie & Colin got married Cameron proposed to Kim and they set their wedding for November. They got married in the Bountiful Temple on a beautiful fall day.  I have no doubt that Cameron's mom Janeen was there in spirit. I know it would have been a special time for her.

I'm always glad to be apart of my nieces and nephews wedding.  After the temple we all met together for a nice luncheon.  Their reception was up north for Kim's family and they an open house and Gary & Ellen's house the following week.

August - October 2013

Jandie's celebrated her 20th Birthday.

And Nate celebrated his 25th birthday.  We were altogether for Sunday dinner and they both decided to open their gifts that night.

The girls and I spent a couple of days up at the Bear River lodge the week of Labor Day.

Everytime I take pictures these days and I tell Den to smile I get a "cheeser" smile. He thought he was pretty funny popping up behind Lyndie when I took her picture. Lyndie turned 24 in October.
Shirley, Patty and I took mom out for her birthday at Cafe Rio.

California Wedding Trip

When Dallin and Angela chose August 12th to get married I decided I wanted to go to California to be there for their wedding. Jandie & Colin and Lyndie and I rented a car and drove down.  I stayed at Karen's and the kids stayed at a nearby hotel.
We always try to get together at the beach and roast hot dogs and S'mores.

Of course a wedding is the perfect time for me to get out my camera and shoot away. I really liked this one of Dallin just after him and Angela came out of the temple.

Dallin and Angela's Families

Wayne & Janet and their 4 kids.
My sister Karen, brother Wayne, me and brother Ken.  We missed Shirely and Patty and my parents. They weren't able to be there.

Lyndie wanted a picture of all her girl cousins so we rounded them all up.  We are missing Lisa, Becky & Betsy.

The happy couple. They were hard to get a good picture of since the photographer was always taking their picture and I didn't want to be in her way.
